I was a jerk too LOL but basically because people would come to my desk expecting me to work while I was at lunch, their priorities were matter of life and death (always!!), finally got fed up and made a sign that I stuck on my computer at lunch time...It is lunch time and unless you are bleeding to death and need me to call 911 you will be ignored, thank you!
Lots of my coworkers laughed their butts off and got the message, there were a couple that actually reported me to HR lol...they were kindly told by the HR manager that unless they wanted me to be paid for my half hour of lunch, rules were rules and it was my rightful lunch time but I was also kindly told to stop being such a smarta$$ lol
True story. I worked in a department store a few years ago, and there was this diabetic lady, who had to bring two lunches, because someone kept eating her lunch. She could not go without food, so since she couldn't stop the thief, she just brought double her lunch, and would put a note in it that said, "For you! For me! ok?"
The "respectful thief," responded with "ok. thanks." LMAO!!!!!!!
