A "WTF" Comment That Got Me Seeing RED!
I was watching an episode of "Pregnant in Heels" while folding laundry tonight. A couple who was awaiting the birth of their second daughter via surrogate shared on the show that they experienced a miscarriage of their surrogate's first pregnancy. They mentioned how some people say the absolute WRONG thing about losses. One comment they endured was that the miscarriage may be a sign that they weren't meant to be parents.
I'm sorry--but WTF??? I was incensed on their behalf and on behalf of every woman who has endured awful comments--some well-intentioned, some just plain mean-spirited--after losses.
If I could growl at every idiotic comment-maker in this world, I would. And I might also BITE!
It's not wrong of them to think this. While suffering a miscarriage is tragic, lots of people believe that things like that happen for a reason. Maybe at that time they /weren't/ destined to be a parent. You can't get angry at people for trying to make logical sense of something that hurts. Saying something like that may have been the only way they knew how to offer condolences and show their sympathy.
wow.... yeah, I always hated those comments. Especially when someone told me oh, well I guess it just wansn't meant to be.... at least now you can finish school because you would have never been able to finish school if you were pregnant and God knows that... WTF?!?!?! I was so upset I walked away and cried.... People and their lack of a filter shock me sometimes!
I love that show by the way! I was so happy to see at the end of last season when she got pregnant and plesantly surprised to see her pregnant this season!
