Hey Ladies! I am new to this group...  I finally switched doctors and I had my iniitial appointment with a fertility specialist on friday. I have already had every known test in the book and everything has turned out ok. But still after 20 months ttc and one ectopic (also undiagnosed) no baby. I have done 2 rounds of clomid alone, but now this doc is recommending clomid, trigger shot and 2 iui's (24 hours apart). I'm terrified. I'm worried about spending all this money (about 2500 a cycle because my insurance doesnt cover any of it) and then getting a neg result. I know its a worth while risk, but I have my doubts. I am cd 25 today and they said I can start with the new cycle approaching. I have a lot going on in Feb and between already being skeptical and knowing there is a lot going on in Feb, I'm wondering if I should wait. My hubby and I are going back and forth on this whole thing. I just dont know what to do. Anyone have any advice? thanks! :)

I would not do 2 back to back.. It doesnt give you more of a chance than if you do 1.

I would just do one, it seems a little extreme! This is just my opinion but it seems like something to get more money. My specialist told me I have a great chance with clomid, trigger and iui! I don't know your exact situation but 2500 a cycle is crazy. In going to pay 1080 a cycle

Thank you. I am going to call today and ask if I can just do 1. How do you ladies feel about stress factor? Feb i have 2 birthday parties I'm planning and I am also my step daughters brownie troop's cookie mom. So I have all that. Do you think I should wait until March? In my heart i dont want to wait, but I dont want to lessen my chances.

I don't know how you personally deal with stress but there is no way I would do that after having the iui. I plan on being lazy and stress free! If thats something you enjoy and you won't be stressed then you should do it, it will make the 2 week wait go faster but I personally wouldn't do it but I understand you not wanting to wait either!

I would agree that you should push for only one IUI.  I just got my BFP this month after an IUI with injectables and trigger.  I'm not great at handling stress so I purposefully kept my schedule pretty open in the tww.  Also a lot of people say it doesn't make a difference but the day of the IUI I went straight home and laid on the couch ALL DAY - even if the laying around didn't help, the day of pure relaxation probably did....I would say if you're already stressing a little about Feb maybe just wait for March and take the time now to plan to keep your schedule as free as possible to allow time to really relax.

Good points! I have decided to wait until March. I talked to my nurse about it too and she agrees, one month  is not going to hurt. they are also waiting on some test results, so its better i wait anyway. Thanks so much for the advice. I dont know anyone who has been through this and having this site to post to helps!!

Congrats on the BFP Brandrea!!! woot woot! :)

I'm always under stress so I'm used to it but take it easy if you can. Planning parties seems like fun!
