Inevitable?

When I first came home from college, my next door neighbor, who I knew my whole life, told me that I reminded her of my mom. This was shocking to hear at 20 years old. How could I possibly be like my mom at such a young age? Now, however, at age 34 I do see some similarities. For most of us I think it is inevitable.

As much as we don't want to be. We are in some ways. I know for me I worked hard to not be the bad parts of my mother. But I know I am a bit like my mother.

I wish! My mother is fantastic and fun and I admire her more than I could ever imagine

Unfortunately, I seem to have a lot of my fathe rin me, and I never wanted that. Not just because he wasn't cool or fun, but because he was grumpy and scary and people don't usually like him. Sigh.

At times, I have the same coldness and frustration as my mom.  Those are some traits I'm trying to work on
