Braggin' Mama! - PIOG Update in RED

The school year is fast drawing to a close here in Australia and the
girls' school is getting ready to hand out end-of-year awards.

Athena is in Year 12, her last year of High School.  As well as the
usual awards, the school awards Dux of Subject to the student with the
highest aggregate mark over the year for Year 12 only.

Athena got Dux of Physics and came a very close second in Chemistry!
As you can imagine, we're terribly proud of her, especially DH as
Physics is His Thing - he has a PhD in Physics.  It's especially amazing given that she is a full year younger than most of her classmates having skipped a year some time back.

I know this has nothing to do with depression issues but I'm just so proud of her I'm just about bursting!

Valediction was yesterday.  In addition to the Dux (that we knew about) was an award we didn't expect - she won the inaugural Best Female All-rounder award which came with a very nice cheque for $500!  We were stoked to have her recognised this way and rewarded.
