I guess it depends on who you share with, what you share, and how you share it.
I went to a counselor and would share and then only feel worse, but now I have a new counselor and she is really helpful and I actually feel good after talking with her. I've had the same thing when sharing with friends ... one person I'd share with and just end up feeling worse and then a different one was really good at helping me feel better.
Sometimes that happens. I think that is what therapy is good for, if you have the right therapist. You also have to trust them too. With friends and family memebers I've learned what to say, when and how to minimize conflict.
It helps me to talk about what's going on. I learned to what to say and not to say to certain people. When you have a therapist, it is important that you have trust.
it all depends on who youre talking to. if its a therapist then know they are trying to help you.

I usually feel worse after I open up too.
