Caught my son watching porn

Yes... I caught him watching porn on my mobile phone. We have no internet, except on our cell phones, and sometimes I let my 13 year old have it night to listen to songs. Anyway when I checked my phone the next day there it was. I didn't want to embarrass him, but I did bring up that these type of videos are wrong and degrading to women. My dh just laughed and said it was normal, my mom wants me to spank him. Do you ladies have any advice?

Maybe he was just curios, i know when i was close to that age i was curios too. I dont think he needs to be spanked, because it isnt like he tried to delete it or hide it. Maybe it will be better is your DH can handle this one? Your son may be more comfortable talking to his dad abt it.

Ha HA Ha, It is very normal for a young man his age. Don't embarrass him. I remember catching my son, we do have embarrassedInternet and when I went into his room (with out knocking) and saw what was on the screen, which he turned of quickly, I didn't say anything at all I just backed out red faced and all. I do believe porn is degrading to women but, men are going to be men. As he gets older he is going to need even more privacy. so look out mom. You son will be fine just put everything into prospective. (a little old for spanking)

it is natural for him to wonder. i first found magazines behind the bed in my sons room. no i dont think you should spank him just sit down with him and have a talk about how a woman is to be respected.

Thank you ladies for your wonderful responses. Since reading your posts I feel so much better. I won't make a big deal about it, but I never should have told my mother. She's been hysterical about it, and saying how my dh and I need to be better parents, and that this has happened b/c we no longer go to church. So, I have felt like a bad parents, and yada yada yada... I now feel better knowing that this is normal.

it is normal. I had a friend son who was doing this with his cell phone. I told her why did you get  him a phone he could surf net with. What was funny was he was downloading the pictures then denying he did it. The phone was only in his possession. This is why if i have to get a cell for my girls ever they will not have data or camera phones.

I think its normal, I remember my friend and I finding her dad's stash of magazines and looking through them. Its normal curiosity.  It's when you DON"T talk to them about sex and respect that it's an issue.

He doesn't even own a phone, and that's why I was shocked to see it on mine. I guess he didn't think that the phone saves every address and site that's been visited. It makes me laugh now, but my mom is a bible-thumping Christian (no offense to believers), and to her it's an absolute sin. But, she her self haven't had sex in over 18 years, so what can you expect?!! Hahaha...

Its normal.

I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. Maybe just remind him that it isn't hisphone and others can see what he does on it.

Pick your battles. The tighter you try to hold him in, the harder he will pull away.

I agree with the other ladies, it's normal. I have a 13 year old son too, and though I've never caught him looking at porn, that doesn't mean he's never seen it. I know my son is curious and we talk pretty openly, I wouldn't put it past him! But I DO think it's totally normal. I wouldn't be ok with it if it keeps happening, but I would'nt makr him be in trouble either. Ohhhh, the things we have to look forward to as moms of boys lol!

I couldn't resist the boys comment. I am so with you on that. They are quite interesting to raise considering we see things from a woman's point of view.

I've had my share of dealing with the porn issue three times. Good grief.  I had to speak with my therapist about it because they were driving me up a wall.  It is a normal curiosity. And nope, my husband was no help at all. He had his own stash as well until I tossed it.
