I couldn't sleep last night even though I spent most of yesterday researching songs, purchasing and downloading sheet music and accompaniment MP3s, printing the music and burning discs. I'm as prepared as I'm going to be, but I'm all keyed up with nerves. Sure I'm qualified, but I still have never taught an actual student before, just gave feedback in a class setting and that was a long time ago. And this girl has studied voice for 5 years already and is preparing to audition for colleges. Oh, and she's not going to like when I tell her that in addition to learning a new English art song, the French song she has prepared is not an art song, so she needs a new one (I have songs lined up for her and luckily, one of her Italian songs is ok). No pressure. Ack!
