Anxiety do you relieve them?

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

In addition to PTSD and OCD, or maybe in conjunction with them, I suffer from anxiety. I've had stress hormones pouring into my system, probably since birth. Among other things, It has caused me problems with my heart. I have tachycardia arrythmia, which is worse when you're stressed.

I'm having a lot of bouts of tachycardia lately, and I know I need to reduce stress/anxiety. The problem is I've never been adept at pampering myself and just letting go of everyday. What are some little things I can do to reduce stress and anxiety? A full day of pamper me is just never going to happen, so what little things can I do?

For the record...yes, I see a therapist, but that's a long-term type of thing. I need daily relaxation types of things.

I have severe anxiety and depression. The only thing that helps when I'm in a depression funk is talking to/ doing things with my fiancée. He knows how to make me laugh and smile and be happy and he helps me get my mind off of things. He does the same thing with my anxiety attacks, but he works 6 days a week so the consoling from him is quite limited. The only thing thing I regularly do for my anxiety is I'm a smoker, about a pack a day, so when I'm having anxiety I have a cigarette and it relaxes me but only temporarily. I absolutely don't recommend smoking if you don't already, I wish I could quit :/ sorry I couldn't really help. But the lavender bath sounds amazing, I'd try that. As a matter of fact, when we have the extra money to buy the candles and lavender bubble bath, I am going to see if it helps :)

Its a prescription medication used for high b/p but it has helped me a lot. I used to wake up every single morning throwing up from anxiety and after my 1st dose, no more.

Quoting Anonymous:

I'm not familiar with it. Could you give me more information? I've been using breathing exercises and such, so far. I'm up for just about anything that would help. Thank you!

I know you said small things, but I have to ask, have you ever been on minipress? Its for high b/p but its also used for ptsd. It blocks the fight or flight response. Ive been on it about 4 yrs and it has truly been a miracle for me. Just a thought. Good luck mama, hugs!

I write, listen to music, especially loud music, organize or clean the house, or sometimes just getting out by myslef.i will just drive around listening to music, or sit by the water, sometimes its helpful to be around positive fun people, but other times that just make me anxious and depressed. Sex helps too,lol
