Has anyone ever had to quit their job due to their depression or other mental illness?
ETA: I had to leave my job. I was just diagnosed with rapid-cycling bipolar disorder on top of MDD. I tried to work with my employers to cut me down to part time for a bit while I got things under control but they refused to help me so I had no choice but to leave. My job was where I was having most of my episodes. It Sucks but I have a 20 month old DD to take care of and I need to be happy for her.

Yes. Well actually my job put me on a leave of absence. My boss was super nice about it, she told me I needed to take some time off and try to get well. I was a home health aide. I never went back, Ive been on disability ever since, its been almost 20 years.

Yes. I had a complete breakdown and had to leave not just my job, but what was my career. It wasn't pretty.

I understand. I have bipolar as well. I think you made the right decision. Can you find a less stressful job?
