The hummingbird feeder has been frozen for a few days, but I wasn't worried about it because I haven't seen any hummingbirds buzzing around. I didn't give it much thought until I got home today, and there was a hummingbird buzzing around the feeder and chattering at me lol. So I got out the spare feeder and filled it up and he has been back and forth to the feeder for the last half hour or so. I love to watch them, and I'm glad I could help satisfy his little tummy :-)

Homemade hummingbird nectar

1 cup white sugar

4 cups  water.   Combine both in a clean pot boil for 1 min. Let it cool before filling feeders. No need to add any red if the feeder has red on it the humming birds will find it.  Keep extra nectar in the fridge for 2 weeks.

i have figured out a good way to keep ants from my feeders.  I have months to go before any humming birds return.
