Has anyone tried hypnosis?

I smoke a pack a day, could lose a few pounds, and have no memories of my childhood before the age of 5. So, I've been toying with the whole hypnosis thing. What do you guys think?

It worked for a family memeber to lose weight.  I've wanted to try it to quit smoking.

Did it last, or is it a continuous thing?

I lost a lot of weight after hypnosis for it. It really did help. I wish I could afford it again. The only thing he could not convince me of was, that pizza tasted bad. But it did get me down to 1 piece and I was feeling full.

I wanted to try it for smoking too, but he said that with just setting an appt for the weight he wouldn't have enough time set aside to do both.
