Whooping Cough

Sad, but this just came out:

I'm also not one to "spread" non-medical data sources, but this actually happened to my daughters' preschool this January! One of the kids caught Whooping Cough and they disclosed that the student HAD been fully vaccinated and healthy.

they used that as a chance to sell more vaccines. sad but true.

they are now doing the same thing with the chicken pox.

We had an outbreak in a playgroup about 11 years ago. The most ironic thing about the whole incident was it too forever before any Dr would test for or diagnosis it as whooping cough. They said that it couldn't be whooing cough becauce most people are vaccinated agasint it. This was a fairly crunchy group, so about 1/3 were not vaccinated.

It's more accurate to look at the rate of whooping cough in the vaccinated vs the unvaccinated. The rate of attack was higher overall in the unvaccinated, while in the vaccinated,  the attack rate was highest in the age bracket too old for DTaP, but too young for TDaP.
