i am a huge homemade lunch person now! my DD just started full day kinder on monday.

i would love to know what did u pack in your kids' lunch boxes. so far i think i'm good :) but if u have any suggestions lemme know! :)

monday: sandwhich (whole weat bread, ham, avocados, lettuce and honey mustard). blue berries w/canned fruit (wasn't able to pick up fresh fruits the day before) and trail mix w/ dried fruit and nuts

tuesday: left over spagetty. carrots and strawberries

wednesday: pita w/ ham, lettuce and tomatoes. cucumber w/lemon and salt and apple.

at first i was afraid of putting too much food or not enough, but she said she's good :)

i need to go buy some small ziploc bags so i can send her more nuts or trail mix :)

Have you heard of Bento Boxes?  Americans call them Lap Lunches.  There are websites full of healthy recipes.

Looks like you are packing some fabulous lunches, Mama!

Let's see....

Mon: avacado and creamcheese dino shaped sammies, orange slices, cherry tomatoes and mozz cheese cubes, and pretzas

Tues: Spinach Ricotta Bites, cucumber slices, melon balls, and pretzals

Wed: Peanut butter and honey dino shaped sammies, dried canberries, steamed green beans, and triscuits

Tomorrow I'm packing chicken on a stick, carrot snack sticks, cucumber and dip and sliced fruit (maybe strawberries)

Friday I've planned: hummus pinwheels, cheese cubes, sliced fruit and cherry tomatoes

We have small, stainless steel boxes (I hate the waste and potential toxins in plastic bags), that fit nicely in my daughter's lunch bag.

I have a huge list of bagged lunch ideas; send me a message if you would like a copy.

I try to pack something from each of the food groups but no sweets, they kill my son's concentration so I save those for after school occasionally.  My son's VERY picky.  He's not a big meat eater and has recently decided he doesn't even like peanut butter anymore.  I always struggle to pack something healthy for him.

Didn't mean to quote before. Sorry

We can't send peanut butter to school. :( how do you get your kids to eat all that food? My son eats half his turkey sandwhich won't touch his carrots. Then he's starved when he gets home. It makes me angry that the teachers let them go out to play before they've finished or even attempted to eat their food.
