Do you eat oatmeal?

Is it healthy for you? I remember when I was a little girl...my Grandfather would have some oatmeal and a piece of toast every morning for breakfast. He had heart disease. So I guessed it was healthy for you. I noticed the kind I am having right now at 170 calories so it seems to be a good little breakfast...of course Id eat toast or something with it. So what do you think? Is it healthy? Do you like it?

I've posted before about my recipe for oatmeal:  I call it "My weird oatmeal".  I use 1/2 c old fashioned oatmeal, 1/3 c dry milk, a handfull of craisins, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp each of ginger, nutmeg, turmeric, black pepper. 1 c water. I cook this for about 3 min in the microwave then I add 1 scoop vanilla whey powder. I mix this and then put in the refridgerator. I eat mine cold the next morning.

I love it. We buy steal cut oats and put fruit if it's on hand or cinnamon/milk/butter.

When I lost a good bit of weight I was eating oatmeal for breakfast every morning.  Now obviously it wasn't just the oatmeal that was helping me lose weight but I think having that as a healthy breakfast helped.
