Headache that wont go away: UPDATE

Ive been to the dr twice in the last month. It all started with a migraine. Then I felt my left side of my face was weak/numb. Dr looked at me and said she didnt see anything wrong. No tests were done. 2 weeks later still had the headache everyday but a dull ache and lightheaded at random times. Went to a clinic, different dr who said my blood pressure was high and gave me hbp pills. The thing is ive never had high bp and when I got home and took it it was normal. I took it at walmart waiting for my pills and it was 118/80. My resting heartrate is always fast though. Always has been. Im 4'11,86lbs. I did not take the pills. Ive taken my bp many times since fri and its been fine. I just keep feeling a tightness in my temples and forehead that comes and goes at random. My bp is usually normal at that time but my hr might be 102 or so. I dont think I should take the pills. I do not have insurance so I cant keep going to the dr. Any ideas?

Update:

So I went back to the dr because I couldnt sleep. Blood pressure was kind of high but not too bad. Heartrate was 115 sitting. Dr said some kind of tachycardia. I told him they had given me 100mg of a bp med and he said that is way too much for my size. He is twice as big as me and takes 50mg. He gave me propanolol 10mg twice a day. I took it yesterday and my heart wasnt beating out of my chest! And my headache went away completely within an hour. thyroid was checked and was fine. Thanks everyone for your comments!

I wouldn't take the pills. Not sure what to recommend for the headache.

Start keeping a diary of when you get your headaches. What are you doing when they occur? Or what have you eaten prior to the headache? Try yoga or some type of meditation to keep you relaxed. I wouldn't take the meds. Your bp was probably up because you were feeling stressed & in pain. Just keep an eye on it to make sure. I generally take valerian root (a natural herb that relaxes you & relieves pain) for when I get migraines. You can get it at any health/ vitamin store. Hope this helps.

 Sounds like a stress headache.

Take 4 Motrin with a Large Moutain Dew. That SHOULD knock it out.

It sounds like you need a new dr.!!
When my dh was having blood pressure issues, the dr made him buy his own blood pressure machine. And he had to take his blood pressure at home in addition to taking his meds. You don't just take the meds without monitoring yourself.

Have they suggested a neurologist??  My Dh had one optical migraine.  The doctors wanted him to see an opthomologist and a neurologist.

I get migraines like that - and I do have high bp - and take meds...And still get those migraines. I have to drink a lot of water, esp when my head starts to hurt..Ice on the eyes in the dark. Do you have migraine meds? If you had insurance, I would tell you to see a neurologist. They know how to deal with migraines better than a reg dr (although my current dr is pretty good at helping me - she also gets migraines). There are also migraines triggers to avoid - do you know about them (if not, I'll tell you about it).

As far as headaches from bp, I would worry about possible stroke (although I don't know off hand what the numbers mean). Thin people can still have bp issues...I am glad that you are able to recheck your bp - maybe it was some really salty food before the test that set it off?

Ive been logging my food for the last 5 days. My diet is normally not high in sodium. I cant find any link between the food I eat. Its worse at night when im sleeping. My heart starts beating fast and giving me a weird headache. Usually by the time I get up in the morning its better so I dunno. Im thinking its a heart thing more than the bp. When I woke up today it was 100bpm.
