Our Christmas tree fell last night. As if that weren't disappointing enough, we woke up to our Acura Integra stolen from our driveway. We're still in shock. We were a car short, anyway. It was our first family car, a '95, but in perfect condition, low miles. How can people be so...awful? Sorry so down... :(
They found it about 15 mi away, totally stripped; it will be totalled, but it's taking too long. The paper work hasn't gotten here, the adjuster hasn't seen it, then the paper work has to be processed, then they issue a check. Our Ins Co doesn't fully cover a rental, and we need every penny for a new car. The bank will only finance cars no older than a 2004; we're looking at a 1998, and could loose it. I'm not worrying about it as before. Seeing the pics of it stripped are disturbing.
Quoting Krysden:OMGosh that's rotten! Any news yet?
WOW. I cannot even IMAGINE! That is TERRIBLE!!!!
Did ya'll get your tree back up? We tried a new stand this year, it has three rebar legs with a large flat bottomed bowl in the middle wirh a spike sticking up. The tree farm drilled a hole straight up the trunk of our tree. You just pop it on the spike and voila, instant steady tree.
Thanks :) No, the tree was finished; we should've used our old stand as it was sturdier. Hubby got one with six screws, but the base was too flimsy. The tree was simply too large, lol. We've got a pic of it undecorated, up; it looks like it's outside in the woods :)
Quoting finnbar:
That stinks. Hope the insurance pays enough for a good replacement.
