Bacteria are considered to be the harmful microorganisms as there are a lot of health deficiencies that bacteria can cause. However, there are the bacteria which are beneficial as well. There are about 400 types which are distributed in the human body and the major area of their tasks is the GI tract. GI tract basically consists of the organs which are involved in the food digestion, processing for making it good to carry out the process of metabolism and the excretion of wastes from the body. Hence, probiotics help in all the tasks of the tract’s organs. The very basic task of all the probiotics types is to guard the concerned organs. Moreover, the probiotics of any type can be helpful in triggering the functionality of organ and improving the functions too.
One of the major tasks of probiotics is to make sure that digestion process would not have any flaw. I don't, for a couple of reasons.

The science is actually pretty unstable. It appears that people who eat a lot of these foods have healthy gut flora... that doesn't mean it's a causal link, just that they're both together.

The science is trying to find a purified, manufactured product to sell... out of food that is widely available and cheaper and healthier than any product could be.

I usually only take them when I'm on antibiotics, but I'm sure I should be taking them all the time. I will forget, tho.

I take them.  I definitely feel a difference if I've been on medication.  I increase the dosage during those times.
