Did you mother or MIL cook? Your Gma? Do you use their recipes? Follow recipes? Do you watch shows? Take a class? Wing it?
I learned mostly on my own. I have asked for recipes from my grandmothers, mother and mil as well as looked up recipes and bought books. I don't believe cooking shows really teach cooking at all.
I learned when I moved out. I had two or three cookbooks. I had the rule for a long time no more than 5 ingredients or 5 steps.
My grandma and my mom. I even took a 2 year Vocational Foods class in high school.
i learned by wanting to cook. just looked up recipes and had at it. no one taught me.
My dad, trial & error, the internet, my MIL & GIL... my husband lol
I was very lucky to have a wonderful grandma that helped me learn how to cook. Once I had confidence due to her, I began to experience this art on my own - loving it and now teaching my grand-daughter whom I am raising.
I basically learned by being up in the kitchen with my mom and grandmother's watching them intently. I do use my their recipes.
I learned from my parents & Grandpa just following their recipes
