Frozen zucchini (on the vine)

We had our first freeze two nights ago, and my garden froze as well. This morning I found a large zucchini out there since I could finally see through the now shriveled leaves. I didn't have any other zucchinis make it past a couple of inches this year (not enough nutrients in the soil or something), so I hadn't been checking. My question is, anyone ever eaten zucchini that has been frozen? I know tomatoes get damaged by being outside and freezing, but not sure about zucchini. I will try it no matter what, but it would be nice to know before I plan on using it if it has a chance of being salvaged.

I'd consider it a blessing but use it right away. Freezing will make it mushier, but in sauce or baked, no one will notice.

We routinely freeze zucchini when we have a bumper crop... usually grated, but I can't see how it matters.

I wouldn't eat it by itself, but shredded and mixed into something else I think it would be fine.
