I need some advice! I have the most hyper 3 year old i've ever seen in my life! I sometimes think it's because he's so smart & that he gets bored easily. I try to do things with him, but when I do he'll cooperate for a little while and then he gets bored and wants to go on to something else or won't pay attention. He loves to be outside, so I've tried letting him run his hyperness out.... that didn't work. It's a little hard to describe without actually seeing him in action.
He HATES authority, he will NOT listen to me. AT ALL. I try time out but that doesn't work. He knows i'll let him up after a while and when I do he'll say sorry and go right back to doing it again!
I've changed his diet a little bit and that helped A LOT, he no longer eats any candy. Sweets are very few and far between for him. He also drinks things that have no high fructose corn syrups in them.
I thought he may have ADHD, but from what I've seen and read a lot of help for that is just putting your child on medications, i refuse to do that.
So, I looked up some vitamins to help calm children.. I wanted to know yalls opinion on this?
I seen that magnesium is something that kids need and if they have a deficiency of it, they will act out/be hyper.
Should I go to the local vitamin store and see what they say or talk to the doctor?
I'm going to try work with him a little tomorrow with some flash cards, and workbooks.. but it's not promising.
He has so much love and attention, I know it's nothing like that affecting him.
I just know he is SOOOOOO hyhper & refuses to listen. I honesly feel like ripping my hair out most of the time.
Am I just crazy and is everyones 3 year old like this?
I feel like he is over the top with hyperness. I think he might have a little bit of an anger problem which he would get from his biological father. But, nothing too serious. Just the fact he won't listen.
When he gets mad, sometimes he'll bite things, scream at me, cry, and kick things.
Anyways ladies.. that's a bit about him, what do yall think?
Ask any questions if needed. :)
