How do you tell it's an allergy and not a cold or something else?
Sometimes I think DS has allergies and sometimes I just think he has a cold. How do you tell the difference?

colds last a few days/week, allergies last forever.
i just had to take my son to doc cause i was thnking it was cold or something and the doc was like, if he has had this longer than a few days, its not a cold. oops i had no idea. anyhow got him all fixed up now and i am sooooooo thankful. :) he has never had allergies before this year and he is 6.

This. Though many symptoms are the same there are differences. If your ever concerned take them to the Dr. Better safe then sorry.

Colds go away fairly quickly and do not respond to OTC allergy meds.
