We decided after having our daughter a couple of months ago to switch our older two to her ped. I'm so glad I did.
I called the old doctor today-it was a returned phone call from yesterday-and was on hold for 20 minutes with the automated service. When I finally spoke to a human, they had no record of the phone call. Made me so mad.
Reminds me of when I called a couple of months ago while I was still pregnant and the school nurse was afraid of a almost non existant rash on my oldest's face. I was on hold for over 25 minutes and finally gave up.
Totally ridiculous. I think I may end up writing a letter to let them know why we ultimately switched doctors.
Has anyone else had to deal with something similar?
Quoting TerriC:When I lived in AZ, we had a horrible waiting problem. They would always overbook and forget calling them. I live in a small town in PA now and thankfully it is no longer a problem.
Oh yeah that's the other thing. Last year when I took the two older ones to the doc for the well child (they're birthdays are close together), we waited an hour in the room with one chair and the exam table for the three of us. No communication about being behind, no one asked if we wanted an extra chair. I was not a happy mama til we were done.
So glad you found someone you like!
We havent had any problems, but dont have to go in very often.
yes, i have and you should write a letter of complaint to the office and let them know what you think...also tell them their shoddy service you experienced will be shared with everyone you know, so they can avoid that office as well.
We had to switch drs this year for the kids because our old group practice stopped taking our insurance but otherwise we loved going there. The new place is nice though it's a family practice and there are multiple drs for each of us.

Yes, I'm going to. I am very disappointed with the office. They've been going through a lot of staff changes-not doctors but office staff-and you can tell.
I had an issue where my doctor was on vacation and we saw another doctor in the group. She treated me like a moron and called me a hysterical new mother when my 2nd daughter was facing some health issues. She patted my hand, literally, and sent me on my way, dismissing my claims of excessive projectile vomiting as nothing more than a minor reaction to the antibiotics given for thrush. My daughter got worse and I brought her back and saw the regular pediatrician who diagnosed her with pyloric stenosis and sent us immediately to the ER for fluids because she was so severely dehydrated. In fact, the only reason my daughter lived to see the regular ped again was because I'd switched her formula to Enfamil AR and that added rice starch made it stay in her system more than one without it. After that, we refused to see anyone BUT the regular pediatrician and he happily accepted that after their group fired the other doctor.
on post yes! I would get hung up on all the time by "accident" so glad we went off post!
