How crazy is this? My friend's sister-in-law won't let her children snack between meals, not grapes, carrots, nothing. For dinner, she makes them drink a glass of warm milk & eat their veggies until they are full. Then they can have some protein & maybe carbs. These kids are healthy but are tiny small kids. I make my son eat his veggies 1st b/c I can get more in him but she sounds extreme.
I think she is obsessed with being thin. My son (who is fed an all organic, minimally processed food diet) snacks 3 times a day. His snacks are healthy (sometimes he gets an ice cream). I cannot imagine him not snacking. He'd be a mess. We are meant to graze all day on healthy food.
Where do people get these crazy ideas? I know there's an obesity epidemic but it's not b/c of kids snacking on grapes & carrots, it's from eating lots of junk & being very inactive. Geesh!
