Son's first skinned knee

So it has been a day now since he fell and skinned his knee and now it has started to scab over.  The scab is yellow in color around the outside. Is that normal?

I am pretty sure it is, just make sure to keep it as clean as possible.  If the yellow coloring gets worse, it could mean an infection...could, so don't worry yet!  lol

Thanks for the reply....I don't recall what my skinned kness ever looked like so I wasn't sure.

I think when it is time to "worry" is if the yellow area starts to look like it has pus in it...I know gross, but that is the only way I can describe it!  LOL

Sounds normal to me, too.  Worry if it feels hot to the touch, gets red or oozes.

Aw, poor boy!  I hope it heals quickly!

I agree with the others, as long as it's not hot/warm or oozing/pus-y, then it should be fine :)

It's normal, it just means new and wet.
