"Medical Mystery", no diagnosis

My baby is just days away from being 10months old. In the beginning and up to his 4month well visit he was meeting all his milestones no troubles. Right around 5months he lost everything, no head control no control over his arms and legs and in fact has involuntary movements with arms and legs. They are always going to the point that he is now using so much energy he has stopped gaining weight.  He also has feeding issues so he eats a significant amount less than he should for his age making the weight even harder for him. My son can't hold his head up for a full minute at a time.  Normal MRI normal spinal tap normal blood work normal urine tests. A genetics test may be coming up soon, what we know about our families is no one has ever had anything like this, typical minor stuff: bad eyes, slight asthma...  The longer we wait the worse his sleep, feeding and screaming fits get.  We now believe he may be in pain.  We need to figure this out before he gets worse.  Please if anyone has any ideas advice suggestions anything please help us.  We are desperate to save our son from what is happening to him.

How much is he eating, what's his weight? The first step is proper nutrition so that he has the energy for movement. Has he been evaluated by a developmental specialist? I would have him evaluated and in therapies ASAP while trying to figure out the mysterious condition. Early intervention in your state can help him and get a team of feeding specialist to help with the feeding. Any digestive issues? Diarhea, constipation?
My daughter had weight issues, and we started giving her heavy whipping cream by syringe after every meal. She grew quickly from that. 50cal per tablespoon.
I wish you the best, keep us updated.

Have you gotten any referrals to any specialists, or is your GP or ped handling this so far?

seizures? I don't know if that would show in MRI and blood work but its all I have for involuntary muscle movements. You should post this in the special needs groups. I belong to one and they are very sweet. Maybe they have kids with similar symptoms? I'm very sorry, your poor bug.

You need to get into a geneticist as fast as you can.  It sounds like a genetic condition like a metabolic disorder.

Research mitochondrial disease. The mitochondria are the energy source for the cells. When they malfunction, the whole body can run amok. I'm not a doctor, I just know that mito can cause ALL those symptoms and is actually more common that childhood cancer though virtually unknown.
