please help settle a debate with my dh... is it okay to roast marshmallows over a gas grill

I say no, I would think the propane would leave certain toxins on the marshmallows.

he says it's fine "it's just a fire"

Who's right here?

I prefer charcoal to gas anytime.
I would think that marshmallows are no more hazardous than the burgers cooked over the same propane flame.
