I always just let DS play in the bathtub for a while, and it comes right off.

Good idea. A good soak might help.

It's actually right up in his armpit he couldn't be trusted in that much water if I were holding him :) but now in two of the very many spots the tape was suck it's red and sore looking he's not complaining it's just one of those things that hurts you when u think about cleaning it

A nice long soak, with some vigorous scrubbing.

Otherwise, just let it wear off on its own!

I just scrub it after a bath if it doesn't come off then it will eventually.

Oh, I guess a bath wont work. LOL
DS has had those red marks from band aids too. I would try a wet compress, or baby oil.

What kind of injury?   I have used nail polish remover for getting the goo off.  I would think him laying in bathtub for a few moments wouldnt hurt him as long as his head is elevated.
