hey my daughter is 3 going on 4. she can go up to 36 hours of no sleep and when she does sleep its for only for couple hours. her tantrums are not like most children her age. she will go on for hours on end screaming and hurting herself. you cant distract her at all to make her stop. she has been like this since she was 6 months. when she was six months she couldnt move her right side at all. now she can... she is a smart and beautiful little girl but her doctors are sending her to a specialist for autism and somethin else.. doctors know something is wrong but cant pin point it yet. any ideas on how to help my child with her tantrums... ( destroyed play pen, trys tippin over highchair when in it. and time outs dont work spanking dont work nothin is working) my mom has her temporarily cause im in school and live hours away on campus. PLEASE SUGGESTIONS needed either post on here or email me please ctsweetheart09@gmail.com...... preferbally email because im not on here often or inbox me so i can give my number and someone can give me advice..., now doctor says it may be neurological

It sounds neuro for sure especially since at one point she couldnt move one side of body.  I am presuming they did testing while that went on.

Thank goodness someone is looking into it.  Jeez I can imagine alot of her frustration could be causing the tantrums.

you really can't do much about the tantrums until you know what is causing her to act like that...if it's a neuro disorder, she may very well have no control of herself at all, and punishing her will futher aggravate the issue.   And now that your mom has her, don't you think she's acting out even more because your're not around?   What and how to plan to help her if your'e not with her?   If your mom has her, then it's your mom's job to take her to the specialists.   Will she do that in your absence?  Will you mom participate in therapy recommended for the girl?  How temporary is this situation with you gone?  You're leaving out a lot of details needed to advise you.

She hasn't had an eeg or a sleep study done yet?  What about cortisol levels?
