My baby boy just turned 9 months...and we found out at birth he had an undescended testicle....at his 6 month visit ..we still couldn't find it so we were referred to a specialist...and long story short he has surgery to find it and bring it down next week...it may require two surgeries if its in the tummy he said. Well I am just scared to death that something will happen in surgery..I can't sleep over it. I'm so nervous about it. I've heard it's safe and very routine..but I can't help it. I was hoping that maybe some of you have been through this..or know someone who has.
I know it's better for him now rather than later... It's just awful.
also I'm worried about how he will handle the anesthesia...I'm just so scared for him! :(
I don't have any experience with this also but I'll keep your family in my thoughts. *hugs*
Poor boy! I know plenty of babies who had anesthesia at a young age and didn't have any difficulties - I hope they find what they're looking for!
I dont have any personal experience with this, but my nephew had the same problem, well and a hernia as well. They got his in one surgery and he's totally fine. He's 7 now.
I'm sure I would be nervous too. Good luck mama.
Awe I'm sorry. I do not have any experience with it. Sending positive thoughts. My ds had anesthesia and was out for over 3 hours at 6 months. They bounce back quickly.
My son had this surgery a couple years ago. He's 4 now. I have malignant hyperthermia, and I thought that my son might have it too, so we told the surgeon beforehand so they'd be prepared. Turns out, my son DOES have it too, he died on the table, and they brought him back just like they did me 30 years ago. He didn't even have general anesthesia during his surgery, he had a different kind of anesthesia, one that they said would not have any harmful side effects. :/
So, that's why I was scared. I had every reason to be scared too. They kept him a couple nights after his surgery to monitor him, and I was with him the whole time. It's not normal to be kept overnight, I think they just did that because he died on the table.
