i noticed my daughter rubbing her hands together a lot and rubbing between her fingers, i figured they itched, but wasn't sure why.  at first they were just a little red, but yesterday i noticed the creases of her palms were dry and peeling.  she also had a spot on one finger where the skin had peeled off.  Any idea what this sould be?

DS 11 gets like that in the winter.. it just dry skin... try getting the petroleum jelly that is like a lotion and putting it on her hand a couple times a day & right after she takes a bath...

My daughter has really dry skin and we have found using A+D ointment really thickly spread on her hands then covered with socks at night helped a bunch.  Shae butter is really good to use during the day.

We love out Aquaphor for daytime and coconut oil for bedtime.

Coconut oil, in her food and on her skin. Is she drinking enough?

I was also going to ask if she's drinking enough. But yes, try a good moisturizer a few times a day.

It could possibly be strep. Children with strep often have peeling palms and fingers. Unlikely, but if she has had any other symptoms it might be worth getting checked out.

It could be a fungal rash, they are often found in creases and stuff. If a regular lotion doesn't clear it up within a day try lotrimin or call the dr for a rx
