I noticed 2 days ago my 16 month old's back is covered in red dots. They are slightly raised..almost like little pimples... ..*UPDATE: It is Monday the 4th and his rash is completely gone. Im still not sure why he had it. I plan on talking to his dr on Thursday about it at the appt.*

Questions to ask yourself-

Are these rashes accompanied with a fever, lethargic activity or extreme irritability?  If yes, go to the ER-or call the emergency line for your Dr.

Next, are they like insect bites?  This could mean chicken pox.

A rash that doesn't go way, IMO, should be looked at by a Dr just to rule out anything .  Better safe then sorry is my motto.

He hasnt had a fever and is acting normal. They are not insect bites. He has an appt on Friday for his well baby check.

Does it feel rough like sand paper?  Could be the rash that goes along with strep throat.

Glad you're taking him in and can hopefully get some more answers.

My youngest had a rash when she was little. I chance laundry detergent, lotion, and soap trying to figure out what it's was. They finally went away after I did that. I guess it was just a little skin allergy. Hope you figure out what's going on with him.

Has it gone away or did you find anything out from the Dr?
