My name is Victoria. I am 23 years old 5'4 and weigh 255 lbs. I am trying to lose a lot of weight but to be honest I do not know where to begin. Does anyone have a menu sample or something I can go by?

  • My best advise is to get a personal trainer.  I know it is not easy for everyone, and they tend to be very expensive.  I found this personal trainer in my area who really makes a woman feel good about themselves, very educational, and pretty inexpensive.  It makes for some real nice mommy time that you benefit from.  It is nice to be around other ladies with similar goals.  The one I started going to was only $200 for 3 months, he has gone up since then but just by a little bit.

If you are unable to get involved with a personal trainer the biggest thing to watch for when you eat is sodium intake.  Crank up the cardio and cut down on the sodium and increase your water intake.  Doing this you will get rid of a lot of water weight in the trouble areas that is the important thing we have to do first.

A lot of cable companies have fitness on demand, get into a nightly routine after laying the little one down.  Start with a 30 minute beginners workout, you will feel awesome when you wake up in the morning.  Good luck.  Let me know if you have any questions as my personal trainer has taught me so much and I love sharing it with other moms.

  • I am kind of new to the game. I know how you feel. I had a baby 6 months ago, and it has been very difficult for me to get the weight off. I am 5'8 and 297 lbs. My biggest ever. My scale is broke so I dont know how many pounds I have lost, but I deffinitely know I have lost inches. I have been doing easy things. Eat breakfast the first 1/2 hour you are awake. I have been eating yogurt with a tiny bit of granola, or with cheerios in it. Or you can eat oatmeal. Have a snack mid morning. I usually have a piece of fruit. Then have a healthy lunch, like some sort of wrap. Then mid day snack. Try more fruit or veggies. I like whole wheat crackers. Then have dinner. I eat it on a smaller plate. That way I am not tempted to fill my whole plate. My BEST advice is to get rid of pop if u drink it, and start drinking a lot of water. I use to hate water, but now I crave it. Dont deprive yourself or you will never stay on the ban wagon. Just limit yourself. GL

There are quite a few great FREE things you can use.  Do you know about sparkpeople.com?  It's a whole community of people doing what you're wanting to do.  It will set you up with a program of eating and exercise and you'll have the community support as well.

I have lost 22 lbs since Aug. 19th using the Lose It app (free for the iTouch or iPhone).  I entered in my current weight and goal weight and how much I wanted to lose per week.  It then gave me a daily calorie budget.  I log what I eat each day, making sure not to go over my budget. I have lost at least 1 lb each week.  As I lose weight, I update my weight in the program and it adjusts my daily calorie budget accordingly.  When I start to add exercise to my program, then I'll add that on the app and it will again adjust things for me.
