My journey and goal for Christmas: Updated with result of how close I came to my goal :)

I have a goal to lose 20 pounds before christmas.  I currently weigh around 289.  I have already lost about 15 pounds, but I am posting this so that I can have the accountability to keep it up.  I am working out 3 to 4 times a week with the Biggest Loser on the wii in addition to wii fit.  I have been eating much healthier and not drinking nearly as much soda.  I have tried to joint he challenges on here, but I always forget to come back and repost, lol.  So I think I will try and post updates from time to time and let you all know how I am doing with this goal.  It is a small goal compared to the amount I need to lose, but I need to think small or I will get so frustrated I quit.  Give me encouragement please and any tips if you have them.

Current weight 289 10/27/2009

When you start the biggest loser game you have the option ot do 4, 8, or 12, week program.  DH and I chose 4 to start and this is our final week.  The first week I lost 5.  The second week I lost 6.  Then last week I lost 3.  So in 3 weeks I lost 14.  I am hoping to lose 6 this week..  Then I will make my 20 pounds before Christmas goal way before Christmas.  That would be awesome, but I am not setting myself up for failure so as long as I lose 1 pound this week I am happy.  Weigh in is on Thursday.

UPDATE: I have lost almost 40!  I started really trying to lose 3 months ago and my weight was 310.  I have dropped consistently every week with a few weeks of gaining a pound or two.  I now weighed in this morning at 271.2.  I am so motivated to keep going.

This is also my goal for Christmas. I too have more but this is where I want to be by Christmas. It's been a bad 2 weeks at the gym (lack of) but hopefully by next week can get back into my grove of 4-5 days at the gym. Maybe we can be accountable for each other.

I would love to have an accountability partner.  To put the ticker in your replies, you have to copy the code from the site you got the ticker and then go to "privacy and settings" at the very top of your page.  Click on that and then on the side there should be something that says signature.  You click on that and then you have to click on something that says create a signature or something about making a new one.  You have to click "Add photo" and then switch to where it says "url" and past the link in.  it should show up then.  I hoep this helps.  It is hard to explain, when I can't walk through it.

Small goals go a long way. I made small goals and lost 50lbs in 14 months. Good that you are eating healthy and exercising. If you lift weights you will changes faster and burn more fat. I love biggest loser. i love Bob. I like there DVD's.

I'm trying to make noticeable changes by Christmas time too! I haven't seen my family in about 7 months and I want them to be surprised! I haven't really set a goal as to how many pounds I want to lose. Since I have been working out with weights I seem to be losing inches but the scale doesn't move much. So far its shown that I've lost 5 pounds and I started around mid September.

The scale can be a bad thing for us women I think. We want to see those #'s move. I'm bad about that as well. Inches lost as well as body fat weight and % is a big thing. I get measured at the gym where I go but you can measure your inches also. I've been at it for over 2 years and only lost 30 so it's slow for me too. Will be glad to help motivate you and everyone else on this list.

My goal is 20 by the New Year but it is close to yours! Good luck.

Getting rid of soda is a good thing to do. Dont replace it with Diet Soda though. Try to drink water, and if you need the flavor try the Crystal Light Mixes. Also we LOVE Orange Juice in our house so we recently switched to the Tropican 50 (50% less sugar)

This week (11/01) I am going to try to eat more fresh fruit and veggies!

As of Nov 1, I weigh 165 and getting very frustrated.  I'd love to be down 10 pounds by Christmas!  I would love a noticable change!!!!! That's for sure. Went to Wal-mart and got 5 lb weights and Exercise Ball , and heart rate pediometer and Leslie Sansomes walk away the pounds.  We do hip hop abs at work and it WORKS! We do the cardio.  I'd really love to  be in the 150's by Christmas!  I just can't seem to lose the next 5 pounds! UGH.... i'd love to be someones countability partner or weight loss partner period.  I'll  keep in touch too. I've had a rough two weeks with bronchitus.  But now i'm hitting the gym hard plus working out at home.  I love this group because of all the support and motivation is unblievable!

Try Zumba! Even if you don't do it right, your're still increasing your heart rate, by trying to get it right. The set can be a little expensive, but you can go on youtube and do the workouts for free! Hope this helps.
