I WANT TO TRY THIS! MIRACLE NOODLES, ZERO CALORIES.

Has anybody heard of these??  They are Japanese noodles made from a type of yam [not what we think of when we say yam..]  they are plant fiber and have no calories!  They come in a clear package in water.

You don't need to cook them.  You rinse them -- they have a fishy smell b/c of calcium or something that they put in the water to make them last longer -- dry them very well, and then do whatever with them... put spaghetti sauce on them, try an Asian stir fry, etc..

Apparently they are bland like tofu.  Online, a website said you can get them at Trader Joe's, but they didn't have any there at the one in my town.. luckily a  man overheard me ask about them, and said a local Japanese grocery store has them.  I can't wait to try them!!  With all the hype about them, I wonder if they are expensive..

I just got a Hungry Girl email about these and she said she didnt really care for them.. that the Tofu Shiritake noodles that she talks about are much better they only have 40 calories for the whole bag plus protein from the tofu and fiber. I guess the miracle noodles are just made of water and a certain type of flour.. havent seen them anyway but if ya try them let us know

Now I'm wishing I had gotten both kinds.. the lady at the store offered me both, and I just got the plain kind.  Nobody has said they're yummy!   But I guess you just disguise them with a good, zesty sauce..  next time I'll try the tofu ones.

They are not bad.  If you cook them enough they will give you the feeling of having pasta.  My family likes them,  I would never put them with just butter and cheese,  but they are really good instead of rice with a stir fry or with something like that.  I have not tried the one with seaweed in it, but it looks like fun.

I have tried Shirataki noodles. A little hard to get used to but not horrible. The problem is the texture for me. The noodles are a little tough.

I love them!  I ordered them online at miraclenoodles.com and got 20 packages (2 servings each) for about $40 including shipping/handleing.  I have mixed  them with tomato sauce, sauteed vegetables and meats, made a pasta salad with italian dressing, etc.  Add salt and pepper and they are more flavorful.  But I really do enjoy them and they are 100% soluable fiber and no calories, no carbs.

They're called Tofu Shirataki noodles and you can usually find them in the refrigerated section where the tofu is (in my grocery store it's in the produce aisle)

I had em and thought the smell and taste was awful, no matter what I put on them. And I like the taste of tofu, these are just gross to me. Do yourself a favor and buy one pack to try them to see if you like em first!! I don't think I paid more than $5 for a package of them.

Did you rinse them first?  I read that they taste a little fishy b/c of something they put in the water to help improve shelf life..calcium or something else.

My package was only around $1.50.. I still haven't tried them yet, but I will let people know what I think when I do.  I am thinking of trying a stir fry with a Thai peanut sauce..

I've only had the Shiritaki noodles (angel hair shape), because I didn't have the extra money to buy a 20-pack of the Miracle Noodles. I've still not tried those, and it's been a couple years since learning of them. I had rinsed the Shiritaki noodles really well in cold water before preparing, as advised by others. I did a teriyaki chicken & veggie stirfry, then added in the noodles in the last few minutes. The noodles were tough to chew, but other than that, they were fine since they take on the flavor of what you're cooking.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Shiritaki noodles are the same thing as Miracle Noodles..
