Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm going to go and check it out on Monday. Maybe I will get a feel for the crowd... how many, older/younger etc. while I am there. I'm sure each location is different. I have like 5 locations within 10 miles of my house. So I wouldn't think they would be overcrowded... but who knows?!
So I went up to Curves and sat outside in my car for a minute or two. In that amount of time, I counted 4 women AT LEAST in their 80's go inside. Wow!! On one hand, I wanted to go and congratulate them... I mean 2 of them were having a hard time just stepping up on the curb to get to the door. But on the other hand, it made me realize this was not the place for me. So, going to check out a gym this afternoon. The pluses are that the gym is 24 hours, only $15/month (vs. $40 at curves), no initiation fee (vs. $150 at curves), no contract (vs. 1 year at curves), and tanning. The minus is... I know I will feel overwhelmed and obligated to stay longer than 30 minutes so I will have a hard time going in the first place. I am an all or nothing type of person... maybe I need this to challenge me to drop the all or nothing mentality. Will keep you guys posted!
I used to work out there and while being part of a group was great, I have actually lost more weight and gotten toner by working out and walking alone..
I enjoyed it some of the time, but alot of the time I was the youngest one there - a lot of older ladies in my area go. Its great if you don't get to be around people alot.
I quit because we couldn't afford the 35.00 monthly it cost - as an extra expense I just couldn't justify it anymore. I waited until I was on a "month to month" so there was no cancellation fee and know that they would welcome me back if I so chose
when i went i was the youngest there and i followed the routine but felt like i didn't get a work out at all... so i pumped a little harder and jogged in place a little faster and they told me I was doing everything wrong. Idk i just feel like I didn't do much without breaking a sweat.. def not worth my money!
