I am so frustrated! I am just ready to say POOP on it!

So I have been doing STEADY exercise for 3 and 1/2 weeks now, and NOTHING! The first 2 and 1/2 weeks was 45 mins on the eliptical (with the resistance on) 4-5 times a week. Then after reading about all of the great things about 30 day shred, I got that. I have done that 3 times this week. But I am so sore from the 30 day stuff, I can barely get up and down my stairs, so I decided to wait until Sunday to do it again, so my muscles can heal a bit. But my problem is, I am not noticing ANY results!! I have cut my soda way down (I allow 2 a day...one for the caffine in the am, the other at dinner), am drinking water most of the day and using a small glass of chocolate milk to cure my sweet craving. I am avoiding most carbs, and just sticking with a lot of veggies and salad with very little dressing. STILL NOTHING!!!!! I am just wondering how long before I finally see something?! I have seen posts on here that says that they have been doing the 30 day shred and after a few workouts are down pounds....why not me?????

With the soda are you drinking regular or diet, and what about the chocolate milk, is it sugar free chocolate milk?

Have you tried to eat more protein.  Try taking a muti-vitiaman.  I have seen that more protein can help with looseing weight because it makes you feel full longer.   The exersice thing it is different for everyone.  When I started to exersice i did not se anything come off at first becasue the fat turns into muscle which weighs more then fat.  I can tell you not to give up it will start to come off soon.I hope that gives you some help.   Have a wonderful day.orange ribbongood luck

I only drink diet soda (which I know is not that much better, but its like 150 less calories LOL) and the milk I drink is skim with nesquick powder mixed in, so very low calorie. What is the best source of protein that I could eat regularly? And I will definitely get on a vitamin! Thanks

Greek yogurt, chicken breast, cheese, milk, beans, pork tenderloin, and lean beef are all good sources of protien. Are you keeping track of your calories and staying within a certain count? You are getting plenty of exercise so it has to be something in your diet. You can google "how many calories I need a day" and find several sites that will do the math and give you a ball park estimate of where you should aim for daily.

that's good about the pop, I use to drink reg pop and didn't even realize the calories being so high, that was hard for me to give up.  You said your not loosing the lbs as quickly as you want but have you noticed your clothes fitting better.  I didn't loose the lbs as fast as I wanted but then I noticed my clothes fitting better.  Or sometimes all of a sudden you will see the results out of the blue.  It does get very frustrating when your working your butt off and eating good but not seeing results, just stay with it and it will come!   :)

Don't say poop on it-I had sat out 15 years and when I went back to 3-4X a week of weights and cardio, it took me a year to lose 20 pounds. Hell, after I had my baby I was up 7 pounds, and it took me the last 3 months to lose 8!

I would cut out the soda entirely. Your body has to adjust to a new diet, so please keep with your efforts and exercise some patience. And maybe crawl before you run-I haven't done the 30 day shred, but everyone on here says it's quite the workout. If you're just getting back into exercise, you can't expect to do amazing things if you're coming straight from the couch, so to speak.

I was 213 when I started two and a half years ago, I am 191 now, with a baby inserted in there last year. It's hard work, man, I work hard! Always having to make good choices about intake, always going to the gym-even when I don't want to. And the other lady is right-you may see your clothes fitting better before you see a significant weight loss on the scale.

So hang in there and don't give up!

Thank you so much! I will keep trying. I think I am going to do the shred Mon, Wed, Fri and the eliptical on Tues and Thurs and any weekend day my fiance works too. Keep your fingers crossed for me :)

Cut soda out entirely!  That's what I did , I wasn't seeing any results at first then, all of a sudden I dropped down 13 lbs because I was only drinking water and juice.  Be sure to journal everything down and count calories.  Eat 5 small meals a day this way you'll feel full longer and not give in to temptations.  It doesn't have to be full meals either , a piece of fruit or some veggies and ranch dip , make sure it's fat free too.   I've tried for 13 years to get this weight off and finally it's coming off because i've cut out soda totally! Good luck and you can do it!

HI there,

I'm not sure who told you you should cut out the carbs entirely - your body needs the carbs as well as the lean protein. You should try adding in a few low glycemic carbs - sweet potato/yam, brown rice, steel cut oatmeal - things like that - You'll have more energy. Just don't eat them after 7:00pm & keep your counts to between 100g & 200 g of carbs total per day along with all the veggies you are eating. It's fine to keep staying away from other tpes of carbs that basically act like sugar in your body anyway.
