What have YOU done? What did you like, not like, wish had committed to better, what worked and didn't?
I started out with the gym. It was HORRID for me. Boring and I just ended up talking to people. Plus I had to make the time, take my kids, pay for it or work for it. (I worked in the daycare for a while, therefore received free membership)
Then I walked. Pushing my double stroller up and down this GIGANTIC hill by our house. That worked wonders. Days my DH was home I'd go alone and try to run it. That was my big real start.
Then came the videos. Denise Austin's Bootcamp was my first. That WORKED. The a few Biggest Loser videos. Great too. I picked up an ab video, one of my faves 'cause I can do it AFTER a regular WO, and finally, 30 Day Shred. WOW. That was the last push. That was my first "program" I guess. But a few month of using it, it became dull and ineffective... (but it got me HERE: http://www.cafemom.com/group/1111/forums/read/11059584/P90X_first_day_pix_will_update_as_needed)
So here I am at P90X. We're off to a great start, and I'm *hoping* it'll be my last system to buy, as there's so many videos to mix up.
Now I'm seeing the Wave, and there's the other beach body systems. I never use any supplements, I just CHANGED the way I eat. It's worked well for me.
What have you used?
I have bounced around a few diffrent programs but I like doing my own thing and changing it up on a constant basis. I started eating healthier and going to the gym daily, then I added diffrent classes like kickboxing, spinning, zumba and circuts. I trained for a 5K and run a lot. From there I bought the p90x I started it and love the workouts but don't like being at home all the time and kids crawling on me while trying to work out didn't work to well (I do like it when I can't get out of the house). I bought the Wii Active and did that for a while. After that I got a personal trainer for once a week and that's ok. I recently started kettlebells and am loving that! My next endevor is going to be crossfit.
I like variety and trying new things. I didn't stop any specific thing because I didn't like or it wasn't working it just wanted to venture out of my comfort zone.
As for food I just eat better than before, keep a calorie count, and eat 5-6 small meals.
Great job, and advice, thanks!

I eat healthy with lots of little rules. When playing w/ baby I do lots of little things leg lifts, press him, march, ect. Today I am starting Yoga Booty Ballet. I love and miss dancing so I will let you know.
I did 30 Day Shred for a month afterbaby(after the six weeks ofcorse) Then started P90X in Jan/Feb I am curently on week 10 and I have lost 15 inches around my body, 10% bodyfat, and around 10 pounds :) I love it but plan to try out some of the other beachbody produsts out there like Tony's 10 minute trainer or Insanity this summer because I know I just won't have the time for the sometimes Hour and a half workouts with the X ......
I have done Winsor Pilates and loved it, I got great results. I have so many different Winsor Pilates workouts, so a lot of variety. I also did the Urban Rebounder for a while (switched between that and pilates) and got great results, but the workout is kind of silly jumping up and down on the mini trampoline. I also have several yoga workouts by Gaiam and I like the slower ones, not the faster ones, LOL. I've also been a gym rat and saw really good results when I did that (5-6 days a week for 2-3 hours a day, I was slightly obsessive).
I have the Firm step thing and I don't like it. I'm not very coordinated, so I got confused with some of the moves. And, even doing it like I was supposed to, I didn't see any results.
Now, I'm doing P90X (day 47) and I have seen a lot of muscle gain, but no weight loss. I also have the 30 Day Shred DVD, but I haven't even opened it.
I thought aboout doing that one, sounds neat!
