Your activity for January 17 is: Take a Whiff.
Today, before you eat anything, including all meals and snacks, take a whiff of peppermint. Although there is not much research supporting this theory, many experts say that sniffing peppermint before eating can actually reduce the number of calories you consume. One study by the Smell & Taste Treatment & Research Foundation found that almost 1,500 people lost an average of 30.5 pounds over 6 months after sprinkling their food with intensely-scented crystals -- lending credence to the idea that strong smells can diminish food cravings.
Why not give it a try? You can smell tea leaves, aromatherapy scents, or something else with a peppermint aroma. If you know of another scent that works for you, feel free to try that one.
