My eliptical (sp?) And weight rack/bench/set are coming tomorrow, and considering we spent a lot of money on all this I want to make sure we work out consistently...and music motivates me....so what songs do you listen to when working out?

I simply use songs that inspire me to move.  It really doesn't matter who they are by or they type.

I listen to country and rock for the most part...just when I run actually.  When I do my Insanity workouts, I just listen to Shawn T.!

Really anything you like.... I have some Christian songs on my ipod that are upbeat and fast. I need to update and add a few more though.

My playlist is actually my Netflix queue.  I watch chick flick movies in the afternoons on my elliptical - that way hubby isn't home to complain about them and I get my fix, lol.

Lady Gaga, Fly leaf, 3 doors down, anything that is kind of fast moving and gets me pumped up. Stuff that can take my mind off of the actual work out. Also it is stuff that I usually do not listen to unless I am working out. So that w/e I hear those songs my mind automatically says okay lets dig and and push through this work out! :)

I have a workout playlist and a running playlist.  The running playlist is all stuff from the workout playlist, but it's more narrowed down and specific.

Running list:

Pink

Black Eyed Peas/Fergie

Britney Spears (embarassing, but gets me moving!)

Rihanna

Adele (Rumour Has it)

Lady Gaga

Gwen Stefani/No Doubt

Florence and the Machine (Dog Days are Over)

Linkin Park

OneRepublic

Kesha

Kanye West (Stronger)

The Ting Tings (That's Not My Name- find it on iTunes- it's fun!)

Workout: (I have some oldie-but-goodie cheeseball songs on here that I love!)

Michael Franti

Alicia Keys

Amy Winehouse

Sublime

Sir Mix A Lot (Baby Got Back)

Vanilla Ice (Ice Ice Baby)

MC Hammer (Can't Touch This)

Puddle of Mudd (She F*cking Hates Me)

Gorillaz (Feel Good Inc.)

Shaggy

The Killers

Pussycat Dolls

Christina Aguilera

Beyonce

Jennifer Lopez

TLC (No Scrubs)

Duffy (Mercy)

So that's a pretty thorough rundown!  =)

I know some of these are pretty cheesy but...

anything Ke$ha, Britney, Moves like jagger, sexy and I know it, zumba music (songs I've picked for zumba that is) like Mara Oye or Press it up by Sean Paul. Now most of those are kinda embarassing so I feel like I need to say that the music I really love is Fiona Apple, Radiohead, Brandi Carlile, Eisley, Sia, etc but they don't necessarily get you moving.  OHHHH My cool down song right now is that new Taylor Swift/Civil Wars song for the Hunger games soundtrack...its so beautiful...you should cool down and stretch to that one! ;)
