I'm trying to manually set my calories and calories burned but am I bit confused. It is saying that I will only lose .3 lbs per week. 

my calories should be between 1800-2300 per Claire. and of course if I want to lose a lb per week I should burn 3500 calories per week...correct?

Just put in what claire said. Mfp told me I would only loose .2 pounds. And I loose. 1-2 pounds most weeks. Mfp wants you to go lower because they are on the lower side of the bmr.
