Is it a good or bad thing?
your body needs to rest when you are sick with something other than a simple cold, as a previous poster stated, especially if you feel bad. Your body needs rest to recover. If you have flu or anything other than that, virus, etc...rest is the best thing for you. It will give you no benefit if you over tax your body when sick.
Thank you Ladies. I was feeling bad that I haven't been able to exercise. THought I should some. I have taken a few walks, but that is about it. I think I have a sinus infection, but also wonder if something is wrong because my breathing has been really bad these past few days. I didn't want to overdo it, but then wondered if exercise would help some.
I just went to the doctor Tuesday for a sinus infection. I was working out for the first few days I had it and it set me back. I actually got sicker. Im doing insanity and I couldnt even make it past the first 10 minutes of the work out. I took 2 days off and Now I am back into it. I would say rest! If I get sick again, I will not push through working out, especially since I was not able to give it my all and in turn making me sicker.
I say keep up with the walks you've been doing. At least you're still moving, but it's tough to breathe when you have a sinus infection, and you want to be careful not to add to the inflammation. Carry tissues or a hankie with you so you can blow your nose as needed, stay hydrated, bundle up as needed, and listen to your body. It can stir stuff up for a little bit right after the walks, but it will also help keep your blood flowing, which is good for fighting infection (helps get those white blood cells where they need to be).

It depends on if you feel up to it. I always go with my body. Sometimes a head cold I can work through, but if I feel worse, then I rest.
I go by how I'm feeling. Very sick, tired then I need sleep and I don't but if I feel up to it then I do it.
For me it depends on whats making me sick. Sometimes a light workout helps me feel better and other times I just lay around and complain.
