Shoes???

I desperately need new shoes to work out in and walk in! I know that not every shoe works for everyone, but I really need some suggestions for types to try out/look into. The pair I have now is a super cheap pair I think I got at Target last year and after doing the 30DS and going for just a 20-30 minute walk, my ankels and calfs felt like they were going to tear apart :( Are there any shoes that are good for walking/jogging and things like the 30DS? Or would I need one pair for walking and one for DVDs? I'm so clueless about athletic shoes lol. I tried researching it, but I couldn't really find anything useful. Help?

I spend good money on bras and shoes. Everything else I can cheap out on. But being properly fitted for both of those can make or break your workouts.
I'd suggest you check out a local running store (they have walking shoes, too!). They will check your gait, measure you, look at your arches, etc. Take the shoes you're working out in now, so they can check the wear on them.
I live in a no-shoes house, so I do all my DVDs barefoot. But you can totally do them in walking shoes.

I'm the same way with bras, but shoes I never really thought much about until recently. There are stores that cater to running and the like? Wow lol. We live in the middle of nowhere, though, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I haven't heard of that.

There are running stores, but unless you plan to run on a regular basis, you will probably be fine with a good fitness shoe for walking/light jogging and then your other workouts.  I would go to a sports store if you have one and get fitted there.  Good luck!

I was having a lot of problems with running shoes after having my son and I found a brand targeted to women who may overpronate due to Queing which is where your hips spread and no longer line up with your legs. They are called ryka and are endorsed by kelly ripka I bought them at a famous footwear about mid range price of 50 or 60 dollars and haven't had any pain since.

There are a ton of different sneaker brands, but as long as you choose a pair that are targeted to the activity you do, MOST should be OK. I seem to always fall back on Nike Running.

I run in New Balance shoes and do my other workouts in my Nikes.  I was fitted for my new balance.  Since I do 100% of my running on a treadmill my Nikes do fine on that as well, but when I do have to run outside (for my races) I'll switch to my NB a few days before because those are better on concrete.
