Hip problems and a question

My hip started bothering me a few months ago. It would pop and hurt during some exercises (especially single leg squats and stuff). Well the past couple of days it has been much worse.

I finally went to the chiro for the first time but my first real appointment will be Monday. Today I had X-rays.

He said I shouldn't do any exercises that are hard on my hips and pelvis until we get it better. Lol. ;)

So that takes like all of my exercises off the table because I do lots of lunges and squats and other things with lots of hip action. Lol

I think exercise bike and rollerblading will be good options??? Do you think so?

Wish me luck for my first adjustment Monday. I'm nervous.

i had knee problems that evolved from the hip (pregnancy and hip popping, ouch) and went to a PT once.....did exercises to strengthen the hip but i'm not really bothered by any exercises....just i dont do squats much anymore.

i bet the best thing would be to swim...but biking and rollerblading seem okay too!

Thanks. I was going to do exercise bike but I was afraid it would hurt so I decided to take it easy. I might rollerblade tomorrow or I might take a few rest days.....

I LOVE the chiropractor.  I have problems with my pelvis shifting out of place and can be really painful.  However, for me anyways, the elipticall and stationary bike have been low impact but good workouts for me.  The hip may be bothered with biking, but just take it easy.  I really can't do lunges and all that now either, it instantly irritates my back.

I have tendonitis in my hips, which also has a tendency to give me stress fractures as well.  And because I'm thrown off balance from the tendonitis, I also get resounding joint issues through my legs, as well as my back.  It's a never ending battle.  I have to be sure to stretch really well after workouts, usually with the help of my husband.

I hope you feel better!!

This is kind of why you always see me sticking to ellipticals and ARC machines and whatnot.  I can't do treadmill.  Not only am I retarded on one (like, I literally can't keep my balance on the thing) but it keeps my knees and hips from hurting.

I hope the chiro helps you. I'm sure it will. :)

I honestly don't know any other exercises besides what you're doing...keep at it though and bump up the intensity on your bike and roller blading and that might be a good change for you!  Good luck at your appointment!

Yea I know it was so stupid to go jogging the other day. Especially since my hip has been bothering me already and my shoes aren't good. And it was double stupid to do the single leg squat things that really hurt my hip later that same day :/.

Lol I think Pilates is the worst! Like the stuff where I have to lift my legs from the hips? Idk I'm not making sense. Maybe you know what I mean. Lol
