So my mom, dad and I are going to be doing Kim Lyons 10 day fat flush. she was on Dr. oz last week and has also worked with the biggest loser. She is know for her fat flush water that you drink all day or at least 3-8ounce glasses before a meal. along with eating of course. Here is the recipe but check out her video that shows you how to make it.
for 1-8ounce glass
1 slice grapefruit(for the vit c) 1 whole tangerine(helps insulin levels)a couple fresh mint leaves(tummy soother) 1/2 cucumber (diaretic)
Or you make a pitcher of it.
just thought it was something fun to share.
Mmm, yummy. So just drinking water before a meal? Easy enough. lol. I do that already most of the time.
I love putting fruit and mint in water. I am always telling people in this group to do that if they don't like just plain water.
Silly me i forgot to put the web site. www.fasttracktofatloss.com There are actually 4 steps. 1. The water, 2."green" grains ie:spainah, broccoli, freekah. 3. "Super Spice" for fish, chicken, etc. 4. snack skinny. check out the site. if it doesn't have all the steps let me know and ill get it to yah. sounds simple and tasty. Going to start tuesday. Along with working out. :)

And even if I wanted to grape fruit interacts with my anxiety meds in,a bad way
I love drinks like that, not because of the flushing component but because it is a good way to get more fruits and veggies into my daily diet.
I drink fresh juices/spa-type waters all the time but mainly because drinking water all the time is completely boring to me and it helps change things up.
I'm curious about how exactly tangerines stabilize insulin. I know they are low on the glycemic index but that isn't an indication of stabilization....just an indication that it won't cause a sudden increase in blood glucose.
There was one study in 2006 on whether of not grapefruits/grapefruit juice would help to stablize insulin in insulin dependant, obese individuals but no studies have been done since, to my knowledge, and it was only for 12 weeks and was only done on 91 people which is hardly conclusive data.

Benzos? Me too. No grapefruit allowd here either.
She does say if you are on certain meds not to do the grapefruit. But to replace it with lemon. And it's not really a flush if you think about it. All it is is adding natural supplements to your water. (just fruits and veggies)you're drinking water anyway so its just a fun way to jazz up your water. you're still eating food. She's just teaching you how to boost your metabolism so your body rids the fat. If anyone does do flushes you're suppose to do probiotics with it to build the intestinal tract back up. By no means am I trying to convince anyone of anything. Just thought it was something fun to share. To each their own. :)

i think i worded the tangerine part wrong. my apologies. you are correct about it not causing a spike in blood glucose. The grapefruit is for the vitamin c. :) I think of it as a fun way to jazz up boring water.
