So, I started myfitnesspal...which I HATE counting calories because I'm never good at guessing or being accurate, either.

Anyways, I'm trying to figure out how many calories I burned running today! For whatever reason, the tredmill never keeps your calories burned at quickstart and I'm trying to figure it out so I can enter it into myfitnesspal app.

I found an equation but I keep getting several different answers.

Anyone want to take a stab at it?

((-20.4022+(0.4472x187)+(0.1263x163)+(0.074x26))/4.184

LOL I followed PEMDAS

And I plugged in the forms for generic and I keep getting anywhere between 250-376 calories burned.

If you want my numbers:

I'm 163

26 years old

4'11"

My heart rate was at a consistant 187

4.0mph jogging/15min mile (I'm short so it's a moderate speed)

40 minutes.

I certainly hope your heart rate wasn't a constant 187. Your meter- whatever you are using is NOT accurate and is counting muscle movement as well as heart rate.

Of course you probably know that how many calories you burn is based on your heartrate, height, weight, and age.  The most accurate way to get your calorie burn is to get a heartrate monitor.  But, having said all of that, *most* people tend to burn around 100 calories per mile while running depending on how fast they run.  That's just an estimate you can go buy.  I'm 5'6, 160 pounds, and 29 years old, and I typically run around 10:30 min/miles, and I burn about 100 calories per mile on average.  Just to give you an idea:)  Good luck mama!

Curiosity killed the cat. What's your resting heart rate?
