Runners - what do you consider a trail? **updated with pics**
I added some pics in the replies of the trail I run on. I'd love to see pics of trails u all run on :)
When I think of trail I think woods w/ dirt or gravel. We only have one pathway that is paved & it's a very small loop maybe 1 mile around.

I would think a trail wouldn't be paved. But I've never run on one :)
Quoting Kmary:Near me something called a "trail" wouldn't be paved, but I suppose it's sort of a regional thing based on your geography, you know?
We have a paved trail in Atlanta- the Silver Comet Trail..they do tons of races on it- bike and running... we also have trails in the woods, but the majority of them are north of Atlanta...there is one south of me, but it is an hour away like the ones on the northside...therefore I get a treadmill or have to go to the park and run on a paved "trail" as well. ( it's safer than the roads though since there are no bike lanes or sidewalks around here)

Upstate New York. LOTS of actual dirt type trails here. It's very hilly and only an hour away are the Adirondack mountains, so it's very trail-filled.

It must be because we don't have any unlaced trails around here. Where do u live?
