I need your age, height, weight and the number of days per week you workout or plan on working out.

I will also give you the website: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

BMR: 1826

Maintenance while working out 3-5 days ( 6 is for athletes): 1826*1.55=2830

To lose 1 lb per week: 2830-500=2330

Your ideal calorie range is 1826-2330 calories per day to lose 1 lb per week.

MFP is telling me I need to eat 1280 to lose 2 lbs a week. I am having trouble meeting that number. I always eat under that. What should/could I do? Just eat more?

Oh boy....

MFP has a default of 1200.

BMR is the number of calories your body burns daily by lying in bed and breathing...so, your body naturally burns 1826 calories just breathing with no other activity. You have to eat at least that much for normal bodily functions- heart, liver, lungs...if you consistently eat too little, your body will begin to store fat as fuel and burn lean muscle mass instead.

What are you eating? Will you post a day's worth of food for me to check out and offer suggestions? Sometimes another set of eyes helps. I find that adding healthy fats and proteins increases my calories and keeps me full for longer.

MFP is also set up to lose 1 lb per week. If you go into your settings and go to goals, you can customize your calorie intake to my numbers. Once you put in the numbers I have given you, you don't eat back calories...just stay within that range.

Start the morning with a good breakfast like maybe eggs, oatmeal, something like rhat, and a fruit! That will help your metabolism. Add more fruits and veggies to your diet, because I don't see much at all. Less chips, and more veggies. Eat chicken breast and sweet potatoes or something like that for dinner.
