Sadly, when it comes to fat itself, it's physically impossible to lose from one area specifically. Fat is lost overall in the body via calorie deficit. The good news (maybe) is that people do have a tendency to lose weight from top to botttom. This is why people often notice others' weight loss in their faces first. So if you keep doing what you're doing, your thighs are bound to get smaller. Also, for toning purposes, try some Pilates style side leg exercises. They're great. I think you can even find free 10 minute Pilates leg exercises on YouTube. Best of luck!
you can't spot reduce :( what you need to do is eat clean, track your calories and do lots of cardio to blast overall body fat... that will reduce your body fat everywhere, including your thighs.
with cardio, incorporate some plyometric movements to tone the muscle. the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn at rest.
please note: some people just naturally have large, muscular thighs. i am one of those people -- my quads are massive and will develop with very little training. although i'm 5'4, i will never have that "space" between my thighs like those models... that's just not my body type. you could have a similar body type and if so, enjoy them.. enjoy strong legs :)
Yes, yes and yes. You don't get to choose where the weight comes off, unfortunately, and some of us (myself included) just have muscular thighs. It makes finding pants very frustrating! I have to get them all taken in at the waist. There will never be a thigh gap for me.
Don't forget that genetics play a big part in this journey as well. We're all built differently. If you're genetically designed to have bigger thighs, you can't do much to change them in proportion to the rest of your body, but you can change your body overall by eating right and exercising. Like itsm3, I eat clean, and it makes a huge difference. I also run (as well as other things, but that's my primary thing).

Stop looking down at them.
You end up with the same proportion distortion that men get from looking down at their own ... uh.. parts ... and then looking across at other men's ... parts.
In fact, I would strongly suggest that you make it an intentional practice to stop looking at your thighs completely for at least a month. If you notice yourself seeing them, look at something else: your toes, your hands, your eyes, your wrists... I bet if you asked 25 total strangers to point out your 'oversized parts' you wouldn't get the same answer from 1/4 of them.
One additional piece of information you probably don't know: it is routine practice for photography (including film) to be stretched 10-15% to make people look proportionally taller and slimmer than they actually are.

I promise I won't look at them ;)
I too have large legs and thighs due to lots of muscle building/gymnatics as a kid. But I have found that you have to do a combination of cardio (HIIT is the best) and leg exercises like squates, lunges and steps. Plus, you have to watch your diet, Nutrition is 70% of the battle with fat. I recently joined the Challenge and lost 18lbs and 10" in a month and a half. Still have a way to go, but so good so far. I have a few more spaces if you are interested in finally getting the results you are looking for.:)
