Coffee with honey?

I've been looking for ways to cut down on my sugar intake and also to eat healthier. I drink coffee every morning, so I switched from whole milk to 1%. But I always add two spoon fulls of sugar. I heard that you could substitute the sugar with honey. Has anyone tried it? Does it taste the good?

I haven't tried it.  I know it's good in tea, but the idea of honey in coffee turns my stomach for some reason.  It might be good though....

I was going to say the same thing.

I am not a fan of phony sugars, but I use a packet of stevia or splenda in my coffee in the morning.

Yea me too. That's why I was asking if anyone has ever tried it. Its one of those things that I would never have thought to mix together.

My friend uses it and he says it's amazing! I'm switching tonight when I make my coffee!

Really? How much does he put in? Does he also add milk or creamer?

He uses skim milk and 1 teaspoon of honey. I like mine extra sweet so I'm gonna try 2 teaspoons

I would work toward cutting back on the amount of sugar you're using, whether it's actual sugar or honey. Both are highly caloric, and honey is only slightly better for you. I used to have two Splendas in my latte each morning (and in any I had throughout the day), and through slowly cutting back, I've managed to get rid of it. Good luck!

I do honey in my tea and coffee. It is delicious! You only need a little, to me it tastes sweeter than sugar. I tried stevia but it makes my drinks taste awful.

I have tried everything (including honey) in an attempt to get rid of the creamer for my coffee. Nothing tastes the same, so I have accepted the fact that my 'natural' vanilla creamer is my daily indulgence. I just make sure I have the calories, etc., allotted for it. Try it though, you may like it :)
